We're Still Alive

I'm sorry it's been a few days. We have all been so sick. We're popping antibiotics like they're candy in this house. Fortunately, we are slowly feeling better. Little Kenny had manged to keep away from the worst side of this bug, but even he is under the weather.

I took Nathan to the doctor yesterday and the waiting room was crowded. Then this family came in. A mom, dad, and three kids. This children ran around the room, jumped on furniture, and yelled and screamed. I have a high tolerance for noise, but these three kids were making more noise than my entire class of 18 six year olds at the Christmas party! They kept taking toys from the other kids who were waiting. I was sitting reading Nathan a book *his book from my diaper bag) that had flaps that you lift up and these kids kept coming up to me and trying to take the book away. I had to ask them to please not take my baby's book away. And of course the parents just sat there and did nothing. I caught the mom's eye once and gave her the nastiest look I could muster. This may not be a very uncharitable attitude, but if you won't take care of and control your children, don't have any! And I wasn't the only parent who was upset. One mom even asked the mother to please quiet her children down and she said, "Guys, shut up." Good one mom...very effective. In general, I have no trouble with children that act up in public. Heaven knows my sons scream at the top of their lungs at random intervals. But I do have a problem with parents who do not even attempt to teach their children proper behavior.
So that's my vent of excessively noisy kids.

My friend brought Kenny home from preschool today and he said, "Mom, Hannah's van was very mysterious. It made me feel mysterious." It was so cute. I have no idea where he picked up the word mysterious.

I don't have anything interesting to write about. We have basically been laying around staring at each other for days. It's been real fun.

Hope you are all feeling better soon... mysterious... hmmm? Maybe it was b/c he was in the back seat and couldn't see anything w/o his booster (o: Funny how they come up with these random words, huh.
