It has taken 6 years, which actually surprises me, to cross a new parenting milestone- foreign objects up the nose.
Nathan shoved a Lego so far up his nose that it was going up one nostril, through his sinuses, and into the other nostril- then back again. It took me an hour to get it out. He wouldn't hold still and nothing worked! The final time it started to come down the nostril I ended up bracing his head against the wall with my arm and pinching/milking his poor little nose. But I got the Lego out. Afterwards, he was so upset nothing was calming him. I finally asked if he wanted to call Daddy at work. That worked! All he wanted was to sob his sad little story into someone's ear.
Hopefully he learned his lesson and won't be doing that again.

I hope to never encounter that parenting milestone. I'm sure that I will have to do it -- I'll keep your technique filed away for that future day. How you feeling lately?
I hope it wasn't the same lego he put in the potty!
