NATHAN!

This boy, I tell you. While Spencer was here we went to a Mexican restaurant. Like most of these establishments, they make their own chips and salsa. Their salsa is awesome...but it is killer hot! Nathan saw Daddy dipping his chips in the salsa and decided he wanted some of that action. I was sitting next to the little man, so I gave him a chip and slid my bowl of salsa over to him. In my defense I tried to lightly dip the chip into the salsa, but he is of the mindset that at 3 years old he is big enough to do everything himself, thank you very much! So he takes this chip and scoops up a HUGE amount of salsa. I tried to warn him, but I bet you can guess how well that went. He put the entire bite in his mouth. A few seconds passed as he began to process the sensations that were occurring in his little mouth. Only after careful analysis did the scream/cry begin. We tried to give him water, soda, another plain chip...but he would have none of it. He just sat there, hanging his tongue out and crying. It took a minute but I figured out that he wanted me to use my napkin to wipe his tongue. He stopped crying instantly and grinned.
We all got a good laugh and went on with our adult conversation. Meanwhile, Nathan loaded up another chip with salsa and popped it in his mouth. I have to admit, I was baffled that he would do it again. He started crying and I immediately offered the napkin. After wiping his tongue, he immediately went to for another chip and salsa.
We asked him if he wanted to try some salsa, but for some reason he said no!

And that was the sequence we continued until the entire bowl of salsa was gone. Chip-salsa-wait-scream/cry-wipe-chip-salsa...
Kenny watched the whole thing. We asked him if he wanted to try some salsa, but for some reason he said no!
