Does anyone have any ideas how to bribe a month old baby to sleep? I've memorized every infomercial currently on the air in the middle of the night. My favorite is the Magic Bullet blender thing. Though, the Proactive and other beauty product commercials are always fun.

I am right there with you! The makeup ones are the most entertaining and I also like the ShamWOW infomercial. Good Luck I hope you get some sleep soon.
Love you,
Marg
i'm so sorry he's not sleeping. Is he sleeping at all? Or is it just during the day? Is he crying or just awake? Weston cried a lot that first week. And we tried everything from noise to warm washcloths to the tummy to finally gas drops (my sanity savior!) If he's awake and just hanging out at night, I say keep him up and awake as long as you can during the day. Then put him to bed for the night. Try not to turn on any lights when he wakes up, and to be as quiet as possible. Once I stopped turning on the tv when Weston was eating, he went back down in under 30 minutess. Once though... I moved the swing next to me, put him in it, and slept on the couch. He won that round. Good luck!
Okay, my only saving grace with Ryan was the swing. I would put him in the swing, wind it up (yes...I said wind it up, it was 21 years ago afterall) and sleep in 15 minute intervals. If that doesn't work, he must have his days and nights mixed up. Try and keep him awake as long as possible and then try and establish some kind of bedtime routine. Warm bath, feeding, quiet time, etc. Good luck!
Be careful with keeping him awake for as long as possible. We did that with Hailey and then when we tried to get her to go to bed she was overstimulated and it was worse. Just keep things dark and quiet at night and bright during the day, and definately the bedtime routine. He'll figure it out. Hang in there. And I know some people will condem me and tell me its a bad idea but for the first week or two I would have Hailey sleep with me at night so she would stay asleep. That seemed to help her get her days and nights back on track but I stopped before she was too aware of her surroundings so she didnt get too accustomed to it.
So I know I don't have any kids yet so I really have no experience really with this, but one of my teachers shared with us what Elder Bednar would do when his babies would not settle down. He would hold them in one arm and open the Book of Mormon in the other, and start reading to them. I had never even thought of doing that, but they have heard it before and it sounds familiar to them since they just left the Father. Just thought it may be worth a shot.
