Life is so hard when you are three. It is such an injustice that you have someone dress you and feed you. It's awful that all you have to worry about all day is playing and napping. So unjust! Well, yesterday Nathan decided he had had enough of the horrible life we have offered him.
So...
"Mama, I run away."
But not without my ever important empty backpack.

And I can't forget my little red shovel. You simply can't properly run away without a sand shovel.

Of course, Kenny was very helpful. Just as Nathan was reaching for the door handle he yells,
"Nathan, don't go!" Oh, good, saved by his brother. Kenny will convince him to stay.
"Nathan, you need your shoes before you can go." Maybe not. Kenny must secretly want to be an only child.
In The Mind of Nathan: "Finally, ready to go. But Mommy made Kenny promise not to open the door for me. And then Mommy takes my backpack away and says I can't run away because she will cry. Maybe I'll start to cry. I'm good at it. Okay, here come the tears...get the wailing going...oh look! Mommy turned on a Little Einsteins movie. Hmm. Maybe I'll stay after all."

If he insists on running away, just send him to Eppie's house. That is a great place to stay.
Haha the pictures are so cute! That is a fun story. I think my favorite part was Kenny's reaction to Nathan leaving. hehe
ROTFL! I LOVE your boys.
Lisa :)
The last picture is too funny!! That face! You are dead meat mama!
How did you get pictures of the whole thing while you were fixing the issue?
I was wondering the same thing as Mike. How did you get the pictures? You are toast. Both your boys have wanted to run away by the age of 3. Good luck when they get to be teenagers.
I didn't try to fix the issue. Like any good Mom, I heard what he was saying and I grabbed my camera. I didn't stop him until he was ready to go. I just said no and turned on a movie, which seemed to fix things.
Oh Dont worry about it. I packed my bright pink barbie suitcase and threatened my mom that I was going to run away when I was like 5. I even got to the next door neighbor's house before her guilt-tripping worked to get me to come back, and I love my Mom.
My sister said she was running away and hid under a table while no one was watching. She finally came out after she thought we had freaked out enough.
