I have spent the last week setting up and getting ready for the new school year. It took some time to set up my classroom because it is smaller than my room last year and it is an open concept room (it only has 3 walls and opens up to a common area). Anyway, here are some pictures of my new domain. I am missing pictures of the listening and computer centers as well as my kidney shaped teaching table. Enjoy!
My desk and source of power.

My circle time area in the front of the room.

Storytelling Center (the black thing is a felt board and there is a bucket of puppets and stories)

I have that twinkle, twinkle little star poster. Looking at your classroom makes me miss teaching (only a little bit though). Good luck!
Chiara... you are wonderful! OUR K-teacher has a lot to live up to! We meet her tonight! And, yes, I really miss you already! We'll have to plan some 3:30 swim meets when the weather starts to cool (as well as the pool!)
I want to go to your class! Seeing how much it's set up like preschool makes me feel so much better about Logan going next year. I don't know, for some reason I had in my mind all the fun stops when "real school" starts. It's nice to see they get so much variety still in K. I'm glad he won't be chained to a desk at 5...I just can't see that happening!
I love how creative you are all the time. I would completely fail miserably if I tried to be a kindergarten teacher. I like my job because every action has a rule so you don't have to make stuff up.
It looks awesome! The end of August always makes me miss teaching a little bit. I loved all the new things, setting up the classroom, and having a fresh start! I just realized the ninth graders I taught are going to be seniors this year. . . crazy.
