A Nice Day

(Grandmama, This picture is for you!)
Today was a beautiful day! When I got home from work ,we went for a walk/bike ride. Just down the street from us is a park. Behind the park is a large wooded area with a stream and walking path. It's lovely. You can't tell your in a city at all. We are fortunate enough that although we live in a big city, our suburb area has a quaint feel to it. We had a great time. Kenny rode his bike. Nathan walked or I pushed him on a trike. Ken walked the dog. I took pictures of our day for your enjoyment.

My hubby thinks this one should be titled "fat man and a little dog." I disagree, but he made me laugh all the same.
After our walk we went to the local park. The Nathan had a terrible time trying to figure out how to climb up the slide. He also found a little Smartie candy in the dirt. Being a 2 year old, he popped it in his mouth. You should have seen the utter devastation on his face when Daddy so cruelly took the candy out of his mouth. Life is so unfair when you little.

We capped of our day with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Naturally, Kenny decided he needed to decorate for our meal and colored the floor and table with blue crayon. Thanks goodness for Magic Eraser!

Preschool Dropout

I came home from work today a little upset and I was crying on Ken's shoulder. Kenny came up and patted my leg and offered his pearls of wisdom, "Mommy, it's okay. Sometimes things happen." He is such a smart little guy.

We also went to the bookstore tonight. He was very distraught when it was time to leave. He was crying as we were checking out and the clerk was trying to comfort him. He said he didn't want to go home. He kept saying he didn't want to go to school anymore. The clerk was smiling and I said, "Who ever heard of a preschool dropout." Kenny said, "I am." He continued to wail all the way home about not wanting to go to school so he could stay at the store.

At dinner tonight he was singing the Months Macerana with the motions and Nathan was copying him. It was really cute. Nathan also got some of his taco on his hands. He looked down and said, "Uh oh." Then held his hand out and said, "Peese." I gave him a napkin and he wiped his hands. Then he handed me his napkin, put his hands in the air, and declared, "All clean." That little man is getting so big. He loves to go in the car and gets very upset if you go somewhere without him. He is perfectly content to ride around in the stroller taking in the sights. He is always full of smiles.

Just an Update

My little boys are so cute! Daddy took Kenny and Nathan to Walmart to do the grocery chopping while I was at the doctor. Kenny was super helpful. When they came home, I stated to go out to help empty the car and Kenny said, "No Mommy. You don't have on shoes. I'll go." And off he ran out the door.

Nathan has been so good about is breathing treatments. Tonight, he sat so quietly on my lap, puffing away at his little plastic cigar looking thing. When I turned off the machine, he took the mouth piece out of his mouth and said "All done!" He hopped off my lap and turned with the most adorable little smile and said, "Thank you."

I went back to the doctor. I had only been off antibiotics for a few days and the symptoms started to come back. I have strep throat, but I caught it before things got too bad. They also took about a quart of blood to run some tests. Results will follow in a few days.

Preschool Speech

Warning: This is a post about the funny, yet inappropriate, things my preschooler says.

This afternoon Kenny came up to me with his hand across his eyebrows, dramatically looking around and said,"I am looking for land hoes." My husband and I looked at each other with wide-eyed expressions and then asked, "What are you doing ?" He responded, "I am a pirate and I am looking for land hoes." We could not stop ourselves from laughing.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He also loves to play with the "water hoes" outside and he loves to watch "Star Whores."

Thou Shalt Not...

... have any graven images before me.

This is the conversation that took place at bedtime tonight.

Daddy: "It's Mommy's turn to say family prayer."
Kenny: "Here, pray to my train."
Daddy (jokingly): "That's idle worship."
Kenny (very seriously): "No, it's Percy."

Personal Prayer

Kenny was saying his prayers tonight and he said, "Thank you for Piper pooping in the toy room and Regi throwing up all over everywhere. And thank you for Mommy and Daddy cleaning up all the poop."
Yep. He elaborated for a minute or so and we tried very hard not to laugh. This also gives you a clue as to some of the goings on in our house the last few days.

Nathan went to the doctor and he does not have an ear infection anymore, but he does still have clear fluid in his ear. The doctor prescribed a low level daily anitboitic to keep the fluid clear. We go back in three months and if there is still fluid, we are going to have to take him to a pediatric ears, nose, and throat doctor.
Kenny also drew this picture today. It is a picture of our family. Daddy is in the bottom left corner, Mommy in the middle, Kenny is at the top left under his name, and Nathan is on the top right. Regi and Piper at on the bottom. He drew us in our blue house because he loves his blue house and that it makes him feel safe. He drew the windows and the stairs. If you know the layout of the house, you can tell that the windows are in the right place. The colored in boxes are presents for Christmas. We really like this picture and all the detail he put in it.
