A run down of my week- event details to be posted later when I have time and I find the camera.
Monday- Grandmama, Eppie, the boys and I went swimming. Got home late and went to bed.
Tuesday- We all went to Pappadeux's Seafood for a little fine food and fresh sea air. We ate outside and listened to the waves. Very fun, but home late again.
Wednesday- Grandmama, the boys, and I went to the beach. Got home late.
Thursday- The boys had their end of year program at preschool. Very cute! Afterwards, we went to Chili's to celebrate Kenny moving on to public school. Got home late.
Friday- Grandmama left but sister and her family came. I spent the afternoon in housework mode and we spent the evening with the family. Got home late.
Saturday- I got up early, fed the boys, bathed and dressed them and myself. Took Nathan with me to the pet store, the mall, and the dollar store for a few errands and pick-ups. Came home and had a actually person-to-person conversation with my hubby for about 15 minutes. He got ready for work while I ordered pizzas for the family for lunch. We all went over to my mom's for lunch and swimming. After several hours in the pool, I abandoned my kids at Eppie's while I went grocery shopping and she fed them dinner. I went back and picked them up and dealt with putting an overly tired and screaming his head off 5 year old to bed. Since then I have made myself dinner for tonight and a completely different meal for Ken to have at work tomorrow. I have vacuumed the entire house, sweep the kitchen and entry way, folded two loads of laundry, loaded the dishwasher, washed the table and counters, fed the animals, and dusted the living room. And now I am sitting here, typing away about my crazy life. I still have a busy weekend ahead of me. especially as I head into the last weeks of school but my summer vacation is a mere 9 working days away.
The good news...I've lost 12 pounds since May 3rd. Yeah!!

Go Chiara!! Is our work really ever done??? We both need a vacation...let's go on a girls only vacation to a beach somewhere!! Congrats on the 12 pounds!!!! Yea!!!
Back away from the kitchen and the cleaning supplies, sit down, and take a deep breath! You should probably take a trip to Memphis soon...I'll make dinner for you! And diddo about the 12 pounds!
So, Kenny is not starting kindergarten until age 6? Is that right? I am contemplating the same thing for Adam, as he has a late July birthday. Please comment, I'd like to know your feelings on the subject, being a teacher and all. ;)
Melissa, you are right. Kenny is not going to kinder until he is 6. He made the cut off by 6 weeks and myself and his preschool teacher last year felt he was not mature enough to handle a full day, five days a week, with 20+ kids. Academically he was more than ready. But his social skills were not where they needed to be and he was both emotionally and physically immature to his peers. Not only did we consider how this would effect him now, but we looked at the long run. Kenny is a small boy- he has finally hit 35 lbs. Since boys develop slower than girls and he would be the youngest in his class, I felt I was dooming him to being the runt- last to hit puberty, last to drive, last to date, etc. And as a teacher, most students who struggle in school are boys with summer birthdays. It hasn't been easy holding him back, but he has grown up so much this year and I wouldn't change the decision we made if I had to do it again. Hope that helps a bit!
Thanks Chiara! That helps a lot. I'm glad that you kept him back not that he didn't know his preK skills, but that he wasn't socially ready. Besides, now he and Nathan will only be two years apart in school instead of three.
