Ha Ha Ha

Okay, this may be a little inappropriate, but it was funny.

Nathan farted at dinner, grinned and said, "Oops, I barked my butt!"

Dog Central

We started off the summer dog sitting for almost a month for a friends poodle. Yesterday, we traded the poodle for my brother's beagle Candy. The dogs have both gotten along with Molly just fine, but it sure will be nice to get back to just one puppy. Well, one puppy and a cat and a snake. :)

I am a big fan of the show It's Me or the Dog and we have been using her techniques to train Molly. She had been responding really weel, but having the extra playmates around have made her a bit distracted. So my plan is to spend July getting her trained and knowing her commands so all we have to do is reinforce them.

Haircut

In honor of James' reaching 17 months, we decided it was time to do something a bit overdue. We cut his sweet baby hair. Yes, it was getting long enough to put in ponytails, but the little curls in the back melted my heart. I will admit- I did tear up a bit when the hair started falling. My baby is growing up way too fast!

Strawberries

I harvested my first strawberry today. Yes, it looks a little sad, but I am have high hopes for the future.

Anyways, this little strawberry inspired me to make a few loaves of strawberry bread (using store-bought strawberries). It turned out pretty good. Even Nathan liked it and he is not a strawberry fan.

Twilight Camp 2010

Kenny has finished first grade and therefore is now starting cub scouts. Last week was the cub scout camp. Ken volunteered so he was able to get some pictures of Kenny. Nathan got to go the Tot Lot (siblings 3-cub scout age). Both boys had a fabulous time overall. There were some pretty serious problems in the beginning of the week and a lot of the fun extra things had to be taken out of camp. But all the boys got to do all the activities they needed to get to work on their scouting requirements. Here are a few highlights:

Rock Climbing
BB guns (Kenny's favorite)

Owl Pellet Disection

Cooking Outdoors

Leather Working
Hosing Down By The Fire Department

Last Night of Sorta Freedom

Tonight is the last night of Twilight camp. I have had 3 evenings with only the baby from about 2-9:30. I have to admit, I was a bit bored last night. Happily, Netflix sent me A&E's Pride and Prejudice (the one with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy), which I am currently enjoying in relative peace. I plan on making eggs and toast for dinner for James and I and will probably cook something delicious and fattening later this evening. Ah, I'm getting tingles just thinking about it.

Though, I should turn off the t.v and get my talk ready. I am speaking in church for Father's Day.

Catching Up

I know I didn't blog yesterday, but I have a great excuse. My little 16 month old ankle biter flipped the switch on the power cord for the computer and shut everything down. The router needed to be rebooted and I had no idea how to do that, so I had to wait until 9:30 for Ken and the boys to get back from camp. By then I was just too tired.

Since I was such a slacker last month, I never posted about end-of-the school things. Kenny finished up first grade on the honor roll. He also qualified for Gifted and Talented. He is reading at 163 words per minute- which puts him on about beginning of fourth grade material. However, he has a hard time with keeping up his stamina up reading the longer books and comprehending the stories on that level so I am working with him this summer to reading a book start to finish and comprehension.

Nathan finished up pre-k and moves onto Kindergarten next year! Can you believe my baby is that big (age wise of course, size is a whole different story)? He doesn't seem to get thath e is going to "big school" yet. Hopefully as the summer progresses and we start to get ready it'll start to sink in.

Not Much Going On Today

Well, today didn't go as planned. Not to dwell on the negative, but the cub scout camp the boys are attending and Ken is a den leader for has been nothing less than a complete, non-existent disaster.

On another note, we went to my friend Debbie's house this morning. Boys had a great time playing Wii with her boys. After that, I ran around doing a few errands, and then took the baby with me to the mall to cruise around with another friend. This evening we worked together to build a Knex roller coaster. I know what your thinking...she leads an awesome, exciting life.

What did You Say?

Remember that song from the late '90s by Aqua about being a Barbie Girl.

We are sitting around the table eating lunch before church and Nathan spontaneously starts singing in his best attempt at a low voice "Come on Barbie, let's go potty!"

HaHaHaHa!!!! I LOVE that boy!

New Goal

Now that summer has arrived I have decided that I am going to blog everyday. I really like blogging. It is fun and it encourages me to take more pictures. I may not have much to day and simply ramble on. If that is the case, you have my permission to skim read.

So here is a fun fact about Chiara. I LOVE Blue Bell ice cream. While I can easily devour an entire pint of any flavor in about 30 minutes I do have two favorites. They are...drum roll...Cookies and Cream and Strawberries and Vanilla (not just strawberry, there is a BIG difference).

Well, there you have it. Now aren't you glad you took time out of your day to read this. I thought so.
